Radio Research

Global communications provide radio collectors an effective means to share knowledge and coordinate efforts to answer  radio-related mysteries. The answers to some questions may already be known to a few collectors and only require wider publication to the community, while other issues may require a compilation of data from various sources to solve a question.

RCA Radiola IV Serial Number Registry
Production figures for some early RCA Radiola models are known and published.  See "Radio Manufacturers of the 1920's" by Alan Douglas as an example.  Some of the RCA models were made in surprisingly few numbers to begin with, so knowing how many were made would be helpful today to give the aspiring collector some relative insight to the current availability.  The elegant Radiola IV was manufactured by General Electric and marketed by RCA in 1923 as a luxury model, and today seems  relatively scarce. Unless someone already knows and can document how many Radiola IV's were made, we will collect serial numbers from visitors to this website and publish them here to establish a range of numbers as a possible indicator of production.
